Sen. Patrick Leahy was in The Dark Knight
When I first saw the movie, I could have sworn it was him. However, I failed to do some internet checking after I saw the movie. I saw the movie again, thought the same thing and still didn’t bother to check. Well, sure enough he actually was!
In case you missed it, he was the old man who stood up to the Joker at Bruce Wayne’s party, saying “we’re not intimated by you thugs!” The Joker retorted with “You remind me of my father….I hate my father!” Watch the clip below.
I figured there would be more newsworthyness to this, similar to when John McCain and James Carville were in Wedding Crashers….then again, there were boobs in that movie. I thought it was neat, and the part was perfect for a U.S. Senator. I like when public figures take on a movie role, although some don’t pull it off that well. Turns out he is a big fan of the batman comics.
