Maybe I do have the funnies…

Paper Plate...
I can happily admit that I made this “Rage Guy” comic, and my buddy Joe pointed out that it recently got featured in Regretful Morning’s 20 Humorous Fuck Yeah Comics.

Heading to Las Vegas

About to fly out of Cedar Rapids to head to Las Vegas for CES. I will post updates on the happenings here, but I am mainly working in conjunction with some of my friends who have gone the past few years.

Should be an exciting time. First convention I’m going to that I’m not manning a booth for. Better get some street cred!

Kids in Balloons

Man.  How about that hoax?  I was hoping there was actually a kid in it.  That would make one hell of a story (assuming he would have survived).  The entire time I couldn’t help but think of the song Wonderboy by Tenacious D, although I believe someone made a better point of “Come Sail Away” by Styx being more fitting.  Wonderboy, I feel, fits the best because its so imaginative just like a child’s mind.  It was a bit of a downer to see it was a hoax, but joyous in the sense the boy is okay.  I don’t feel like getting into the politics of if it was a publicity stunt.  It’s just a bunch of hot-air, pun intended.

Speaking of hot-air, Rush Limbaugh was kicked out of the group to buy the St. Louis Rams.  Although I disagree with Rush’s views, I don’t think his really deviate that far from most of the team owners.  Wishful thinking on my part had it that he would give up his radio chair to focus on being an NFL team-owner.

The Hype Dies: No Olympics for Chicago

I read an article that confirms what I had thought.  Chicago was the most illogical choice as a place to represent the Olympics.  The decision was about culture and emotion, something Chicago lacks.  While Americans were busy to discuss the financial benefits of the Olympics, people in Rio were just excited to have the opportunity to be chosen.  Rio officials were even made the day of the vote a public holiday days in advance.

I don’t get what all the hype was surrounding this vote.  To most it seemed like a sure thing.  How could it? Do you think the Olympics wanted to be represented again in a country that allowed a “pipe-bomb” go off last time in Atlanta?  Do they want to be represented by a country currently engaged in two wars? Do you think they are going to just hand America the Olympics just because Obama is so well liked internationally?

The hype was pretty ridiculous and the shock after being ousted first is silly.

Disney owns Marvel?

My god…has this world gone mad?
